AVLIC Conference 2008
Call for Conference Interpreters
The AVLIC 2008 Conference Interpreter Committee invites you to submit for consideration your application to interpret during the 2008 conference.
As AVLIC's newest chapter, we are pleased to complete the cross country connection and host the 17th biennial conference, 'Connecting Minds and Communities'.
As our professional community expands nationally and internationally, we seek to become a contributor and leader in the interpreting field. Our goal will be best achieved by the sharing of developmental and progressive techniques presented by highly skilled professionals during the 2008 conference.
We welcome submissions from all levels of interpreter practitioners who are interested.
We are inviting applicants from the following categories:
- Deaf Interpreters
- Recent graduates of an AEIP
- Those with more than 3 years of experience
- Interpreters who have attained their COI/ CSC-CI.
You will be interpreting from hearing interpreters’ ASL into formal ASL.
Venues for consideration: Workshops, Keynote, Socials, AGM, plus other exciting opportunities.
Applications must consist of a written resume, a completed application form and a 5 minute video/CD introduction in ASL. This introduction aids both the Deaf and hearing committee members. We welcome Deaf Interpreters who have experience providing interpretation in an academic environment. Your audience will be interpreters, educators, researchers and other colleagues to determine appropriate placement of interpreters.
Interested applicants may submit their application package either by email or by post to:
